Well priced for a consistently high-quality wine, this opulent blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre is packed with pristine black cherry and plum flavors shaded by earth, smoke and black pepper. Penetrating in fruit and edged by fine-grained, persistent tannins, it's ready to drink now but should hold well through 2027.

The 2020 Châteauneuf Du Pape Domaine Barville is clearly outstanding and has the pure, classic, satisfying style of the vintage front and center. Darker berries, licorice, roasted herbs, and some leathery notes define the nose, and it's medium to full-bodied, balanced, and has a great finish. It's going to drink well for 10-12 years.

The 2020 Châteauneuf-du-Pape aged for one year in a combination of foudre, new and old oak barriques and concrete vats. The 2020 offers up aromas of ripe red and black fruits, cloves, tobacco and some leafiness. Showcasing ripe tannins and good concentration, lively acidity maintains a solid level of freshness in this full-bodied red, integrating the 15.5% alcohol surprisingly well.
